Founder's Day

Save the date!!!  We will celebrate Founder's Day on Saturday, April 28 at 1 pm at Holt House.  Enjoy a lovely tea given by the alumnae club with a program by the Illinois Alpha Chapter.  Questions, contact monmouth.piphis@gmail.com. 

Great event!!

Our Fraternity Day of Service event was great!!  We treated the kids to Rice Krispie Treats, then read the book "Dr. Seuss's ABC." The kids were then divided into groups of 3 with a Pi Phi helper in each group.  The students were each given a letter to think of different words that started with that letter.  They then used those words to create a silly sentence, just like Dr. Seuss did in the ABC book.  The sentences then went on a special page where they were able to draw a picture that illustrated the sentence.  At the end, we read the pages in order and we will put them together to make a special class book!  The students were also treated to pencil packs, Fraternity Day of Service bookmarks from Headquarters, and some special treats to take home.  The kids had fun, the volunteers had fun, and it was a great way to celebrate literacy! 

Fraternity Day of Service

We will host a Fraternity Day of Service event on Friday, March 2 from 1:45-2:45 pm in Miss Fry's second grade classroom at Harding School.  We plan to celebrate the student's accomplishments so far with their "book-in-a-bag" program, and motivate them to continue on through the end of the school year.  Our club will provide treats and a little gift.  This day is also Dr. Seuss' birthday, so we will read some Dr. Seuss books and celebrate his birthday!  Let me know if you are interested in helping out by emailing monmouth.piphis@gmail.com. 

Social event!

We will have our first social event of the year tomorrow, January 10 at Joyce Patterson's home.  Beginning at 6:00 pm, please bring an appetizer to share.  Joyce has requested that we all dress festively!  :)  If you have any questions or would like to know Joyce's address, please email monmouth.piphis@gmail.com.  Thanks!
